About the Artist:

Mandy Shone-Salter aka MAN.De, is an interdisciplinary artist working in street art, photography and community art.  Mandy has lived in the Blue Mountains for 17 years and this has inspired her vibrant murals that champions the conservation of native flora and fauna.  Her murals highlight how nature-based street art has the ability to transform an area for the benefit of the community.

About the Artwork:

The design for ‘Harmony in Nature’ draws its inspiration from the community consultation session conducted at Winmalee Public School, where students actively participated in sharing their observations of local wildlife with Mandy.

Their observations provided an authentic and meaningful foundation for the creative process, ensuring the artwork reflects the local environment through the lens of the community.

The mural prominently features vibrant and detailed renderings of native flora and fauna identified by Winmalee Public School students, including the striking King Parrot, Waratah, Yellow Paper Daisy, Sun Orchid, Blueberry Ash, Rosemary Grevillea and Wattle.

The mural was completed over the course of 10 days.
